For the occasion, the Ghanaian star donned a low cut body suit which she has teamed with bright purple tights & pink shoes. Very 1980’s disco dive…

Va Va Voom… Iyanya this girl is too hot; you might need to reconsider your decision to leave her.

Are you feeling Sulley Muntari's Model Wife?

Menaye Donkor
In case you don’t know whose swag is that, okay let me make it brief to the point; she is the ever graceful former Miss Ghana Universe and wife of AC Milan and Ghana international footballer, Sulley Muntari - Menaye Donkor.

As an air of gentleness, she decided to get our eyes winking and tongues wagging with this photo.

To some, the model is just doing her job, but to some, she may be stepping beyond the boundaries of what our culture preaches; but who cares?

After all, she didn’t show anything beyond just teasing us with her bare body thus drawing more attention to the roundish upper domain, but the smart sister decided to use her necklace to prevent any trespasser.

Unlike most beauty queens who fade away with time, Menaye is still that woman whose work goes beyond the stages of the runway.

Stare with care o… You’ve been warned.

Meanwhile, the entertainer says she is enjoying the popularity her song ‘Uncle Obama’ is getting after her interview on CNN to clarify issues on the song.

She said the number of views on her YouTube page shot up massively after the interview.

Hot U.S-based songstress, Dencia was supposed to visit Ghana for the first time during Christmas but she couldn’t make it as promised. The beautiful musician, actress and model apologized to fans in Ghana.

Sa4a design goes more stylish in 2013

Naa Ashorkor rocking Sa4a Design heels & clutch
Different styles have been featured in this month’s Glitz Africa Magazine edition with celebrities fully clad in one design or the other, thus, Naa Ashorkor isn’t taking it easy with her beaming Sa4a Design multi color heel and clutch.

As much as accolades are showered on the actress cum presenter-Naa Ashorkor, as well as on the photographer- Kwaku David, we need to appraise the talent of Abena Safoa Amoako Gyimah, the CEO of Sa4a Designs.

2012 was a great year for the designer who uses the patchwork technique in a unique way, taking the print-on-print trend and putting it all in one place as a covering. Their range consists of shoes and sandals but especially the bags and clutches are sweet.

In 2012, she won an award for Accessories Designer of the Year (Bags, Shoes & Hair Option) at the Ghana Fashion Awards 2012, earlier before then, she had picked up an award for ‘Chivas Luxury Man Design’ of the Year 2012.

All things being equal, in 2013, we hope Sa4a Designs brews more new ideas couple with her wild imagination and creativity to put Ghana as the centre of attraction in the world.

Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Nominations Open

4x4
Aside from football, Music is undoubtedly one of Ghana’s biggest passions and no one event stirs up our passion be it joy, anger, frustration, excitement…you name it, other than the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Though it takes place at one particular time of the year, its impact is felt throughout the year as it serves as the barometer against which the Ghanaian music industry is measured.

This year the event enters its 14th year and one cannot help but wonder what it has in store for us. A cursory look at last year’s music scene saw a lot of good releases which will make this year quite competitive with releases from R2Bees, 4X4, Eazzy, VIP, Kwaw Kesse, Stay Jay, EL, Lousika, D-Black, Keche, Herty Borngreat and other talented musicians, that enjoyed massive airplay and had the general public singing along to these songs.

As we await the launch of this year’s event the nominations are currently open and collation of entries has started. According to the organizers, Premium event organizers Charterhouse, the month of January is being dedicated to the collection and collation of entries and research has already started.

Record Labels, producers and artistes are therefore being invited to submit their entries to Charterhouse for entry into this year’s VGMA.

So who makes it to the nomination list? Well I guess we will know in a few weeks time.

Ghana & Money in music? Forget it! - Gyedu Blay Ambolley

Gyedu Blay
Ace Ghanaian musician, Gyedu Blay Ambolley has thrown his weight behind the call for the right structures to be put in place to aid Ghanaian musicians who only make money out of their intellectual properties through performances and no other avenues.

Gyedu Blay Ambolley who spoke on Kapital Radio’s Homestretch with NY DJ explained how advanced plans were for the release of his next album which hits the international market at the end of January 2013.

Answering questions as to why he would consider releasing his album to the European market before his own people in Ghana, Gyedu said; “Well if you want to make a living out of music, and then think about outside Ghana because that is where the money comes from. Outside of Ghana, if they use your music in connection with radios and TV stations, they pay you royalties, in Ghana, they don’t do that”.

Gyedu Blay who believes the structures are not well set said; “The structures are not properly set for these things to happen. That is the reason why most musicians are becoming paupers at some point in time. In Europe and in America, everything is structured. Anything in connection with intellectual property is well structured. Whatever I have and whatever I have done, most of the money is coming from outside of Ghana”.

He was however quick to add that, he would never neglect his people as his album will be made available for Ghanaians after he is done with the European market where his money comes from.

Till then, the Simgwa rapper has advised young musicians to find ways of getting their music out there where their intellectual properties will be paid for.

Unlike Wanluv…I always wear underwear - Deborah Vanessa

'Uncle Obama' crooner - Deborah
Model/Television Presenter/Fashion Designer and Singer Deborah Vanessa has said unlike his brother Wanluv Kubolor, she can’t leave home without wearing underwear.

“I can't do without a bra. Unlike my brother I always wear underwear”, she told Fashion 101 host Sandra Ankobiah.

Vanessa’s response was to a question on what she can’t leave home without. On a typical day at home, Vanessa explains she could do without make up but would go for a nice Tan top, and what she prefers to call “Nice Chale Wote”.

Touching on her flawless sense of fashion, the “Uncle Obama” singer says most of her designs are inspired by works from the 20s and 50s, adding that she would normally go for a touch of elegance, colour and quirkiness.

“I take inspiration from the 20s and 50s,” she said.

Apart from the extensive one on one interview with Vanessa, last weekend’s Fashion 101 looked at fashion editorials and how it can be improved locally.

Resident panel member Chester Ani, as well as two guest panel members Charlene Asare and Rachael Williams, expressed varying views on the subject.

All three however agreed there is a lot more to be done in that department if Ghana is to be taken serious as an emerging fashion powerhouse.

Grounded MELCOM building @ Achimota

I guess we haven't forgotten so soon the Melcom Building that fell. As we pray for ourselves each day, let us remember the souls of those that made it out and of those who couldn't.

Lynx TV’s Top 10 Ghanaian Rappers of All Time... Who cares?

We find the list below very ridiculous. It’s not only hilarious but very disappointing especially concerning the placement of few of the rappers on the list.
Sometimes you cannot fault others for their opinion on something because everyone seems to have one.
Like a politician once said in Ghana ‘Any idiot can go to court’, it’s the same way any ‘person’ can get up to put out such a list.
According to the maiden edition of the LYNX TV, below are Ghana’s top 10 rappers of all time.
We wish Ghanaians can be told of the criteria for such selections; you just don’t get up and throw out just anything to the general public.
Ghanaians ought to know the measures used in determining who are the best rappers in Ghana. A selection based on mere sentiments should not be accepted or condoned.
You can disagree how you want but then let’s have your list. If you ask us, most Ghanaian will concur and think along with me that Lord Kenya should be somewhere in the top 3 and not where he’s placed in the list below.

10. Lord Kenya
9. Asem
8. Trigmatic
7. E L
6. Edem
5. Tinny
4. Reggie Rockstone
3. Obrafour
2. Okyeame Kwame
1. Sarkodie

Chemphe Honoured Again By Global Conglomerate

Chemphe 'Ghana's King of R & B'
Ghana’s King of RnB Chemphe, after a successful launch of his double P (Campaign for Peace and Against Poverty) project in Accra in 2012, has received one of the biggest surprises of his life.

Chemphe devoted most part of 2012 to pursue his social projects which he made very good strides in the Central and Greater Accra region.

The artiste intends providing basic facilities to “hasuodzie” village, one of the beneficiaries of the project.

Chemphe believes that efficient education and resource allocation is one of the most strategic ways of curbing poverty in Africa. Chemphe added that though the project is funded by his record label (E-Jam Records), he won’t hesitate to accept corporate bodies and media who want to join the campaign since there is a lot to be done.

He mentioned that though the “Global Citizen” song is getting good airplay in Norway where I was released last year, Ghana is about to experience the real outcome from the lyrics of the song.

He mentioned that the project song’s video will be launched this year though the radio stations are permitted to start giving it a very good airplay to promote the project.

Due to the effectiveness of the project, Chemphe has been added to the Care International Headquarters Wall of Fame.

The picture which was taken locally made its way to the Headquarters of Care International to indicate the NGOs support and appreciation for an impressive work done. Chemphe is currently the only Pan African artiste with such honour.

Sarkodie accused of using Designer’s creations for clothing line without permission

@ObjClothing and Accessories has expressed his dissatisfaction with the commercialization of his creations for rapper Sarkodie, without his consent.

He revealed in an interview that he created the concept of a footwear called Obj Sark 1 for the rapper and presented it to him and his management team a year ago, but only recently found out in the media that the rapper had gone ahead to use the concept for his upcoming clothing line, Sarks Collection.

He explained: “I don’t have a problem if Sarkodie and Sammy Forson decide to make their own label, but to copy my idea – the artwork of Sarkodie’s Head – without my consent means none of these guys respected me, my manager, my work and the copyright laws in Ghana. It was something I created and presented to them, with the sneaker I designed and produced called The ObjSark-1 a year ago (17-1-2012)”

Jeremiah also revealed that after trying several times to get in touch of Sarkodie’s manager, Sammy Forson on the phone, when finally picked up his call he had nothing to tell the peeved Jeremiah. “I sent him a message on BBM and finally he responded. I confronted him about what I saw on the internet and he told me that Sarkodie himself designed that artwork; I was Like Wow! Now he has deleted me from BB”.

According to Jeremiah, the development shows a lack of unity amongst Ghanaian artists and a lack of respect for intellectual property. He said that such behaviors stifle creativity especially amongst young and talented Ghanaians. “How can we build a sustainable society if we keep doing? My manager and I were thinking of a Sneaker/Trainer Company in Ghana using The Obj Sark 1 we made as a starting point.

Hopefully this would have shown the way for many Ghanaians to believe in themselves and create a small industry within the country instead of ordering China made goods.”

He concluded, “Let’s learn to keep our word because little ‘little’ disloyal relationships like these turn out to be bigger ones and at the long run, the whole country suffers. Let’s think and do things sustainably, a way that our society would benefit not one that divides us!”

Sonnie Badu lashes back at his ‘haters’

Sonnie Badu
Thanks to the social media and the freedom of speech age, but with a lot of floating comments mainly on Facebook and Twitter, some genuine and others not, one must try as much as possible to put a check on what he or she says.

The gospel sensation Sonnie Badu seems to have been irritated by the critics who wouldn’t let him rest.

What could possibly have been said to tip off the ‘Covenant Keeping God’ hit maker?

The gospel singer tweeted a simple message advising his ‘haters’ to fall back and that only ‘baba’ God can judge him!!.

Please if u don't have anything wise or constructive to say, don't tweet me or FB me.. God is the judge not u!

Sometimes it is very distasteful to read what both fans and sympathizers utter on social media platforms, but then and again if you are in the public eye you should be expectant of such comments.

We are sure Sonnie is the not the first and certainly won’t be the last ‘celebrity’ to be pissed at what is said about them.

Sarkodie Foundation to be Launched this Year

Obidiponbidi
Duncwills Entertainment, the management team of award-winning Hiplife artiste Sarkodie has said plans are far advanced for the launch of a Sarkodie Foundation.

Sarkodie Foundation, will launch sometime this year, management sources have disclosed. The launch of the Foundation will come in handy to compliment the intended unveiling of his Clothing Line Sark Collections, as well as other initiatives planned for him this year.

Management sources have said Sarkodie intends to leverage the advantages that come with the Foundation to improving the lives of the vulnerable in society, particularly children.

Currently enjoying enormous appeal at home and abroad, Sarkodie apart from the Clothing Line and Foundation, goes into 2013 with a third studio album Sarkology, in hand.

The album will be the end product of months of hard work, which has also seen him release some hit singles in the process including Hallelujah and Devil In Me.

Eazzy goes from Brazilian hair to Short cut

Eazzy baby
Eazzy steps into 2013 with a new hair look she prefers to call “short”.

Backstage of the recently-held December2Rememba concert, Eazzy poses in a long-sleeved-black Jacket and hot pants to match.

When asked about what she feels, she replied, “Am falling in love with mi short hair look more and more everydae..look for #2013”, she says.

The singer/rapper is currently in the studio, working on new singles. Her most recent single “Rock Dis Party”, which features Kwaw Kese, is doing pretty well.

Who owns 2013: Tiffany or Eazzy?

Tiffany & Eazzy

We shall make this brief and straight to the point, it’s a New Year and certainly old things are past with last year’s buzz of the Brazilian hair, who is leaving who for who, and so on.

Now let’s leave Efya and Becca alone as these two ladies dominated last year with their powerful voices as well as their lifestyle.

So in that vein, the two of Ghana’s finest female emcees that rapidly comes to mind are Tiffany and Eazzy.

Tiffany who popularly goes by Itz Tiffany is a rapper who has made some serious breaking and entering into the Ghanaian music scene with hits like ‘Fake London Boy’, ‘Last One’, ‘Azonto’, among others.

Eazzy baby as fondly called by fans is another female emcee that we hope can rock 2013. Mildred as she presented Africa with remains a force to reckon with or without her ‘Brazilian hair’, as she has gone on low cut now. Her blend of Hip-hop, R&B and Afro Pop, hope to see new dimensions before the end of the year.

So from your view, who do you think between Tiffany and Eazzy, who will rule 2013?

Welcome to the Group-D3, our dear ADELE

D3

Lynx Entertainment’s all-female group D3 has a new member.

The 21 year old Adele is replacing former group member, Angela, “who is taking a break from music to concentrate on her education as she preps for her final Senior High School exams,” the label has said.

In a related development, the group has had a sizzling early 2013 photo shoot. The good-looking ladies went for a rather feisty look in their latest shoot.

The photo shoot Lynx says, “is also a prelude to the release of the girl’s much anticipated sophomore single which features Richie”.

The single is set for release on January 16.
